  3. Yes, the glass is all original except the drivers door and I believe it is EZEye, I'll check. I'll get some pictures of the pot metal. All the brightwork is original except the bumpers, which were rechromed. Even the bumper guards are original. Power brakes but not steering. Attached are picture of the floor when I was putting in the carpet
  4. You know.... As much as I love this car, it has been a part of me for 40+ years, reality has hit me in the face. From the response I have had $30,000 is not in the picture. The price is now $25,500. If you think that is out of line, please let me know. I will be selling by July 1,, If there was a response and people have looked at the car is one thing, I will be selling this car. I have been following and have not seen any 50's convertibles as drivers in this price range, Please spread the word
  5. Selling my 1954 Buick Century Convertible. I have had this car since 1974, it was complete and I drove it the first summer I had it. I spent the next 15 years working on the car. Put in new brakes, suspension, had the motor overhauled, welded repair panels in the quarter panels painted it and put a new top on it. I was a professional auto body mechanic. Drove it some the next 6-7 years and then it got put away again. About 4 years ago I decided to get it back out and enjoy it again. One of the window cylinders was leaking so at that time I replaced all the hydraulic cylinders, it has hydraulic
  6. I came across this car in 1974, I was selling a car and a guy asked if I would be interested in taking a Buick in trade. It was a complete car and drove it around a bit that first summer. Then began the long process of tearing it down and it never saw light again until the 90's. During that time I went through the brakes, suspension, had the motor overhauled, drained and flushed the trans and rear end. Being a bodyman at the local Cadillac dealership it was natural that I did all the body and paint myself. The car had some rust in the quarter panels in front of the wheels and a little in
  7. Looking to sell my Century Convertible. Thinking $35,000 1954 Buick Century Convertible - 1954 Buick Forum - the 54 Buick Highway.webarchive Members Gallery : 1954 Buick Century Convertible
  8. Thanks for all the input. Great description of the different grades.
  9. It is hard to find comparibles since this is a convertible. Haggerty is from $20,000 for a 4 to $35,000 for a 3. What is mine?
  10. How do you go about pricing a car? What is a low retail... Average retail... High retail???? I have had my Buick for over 40 years. A lot of love, sweat and just plain hard work. Had it on the road in the early 90s, then it was stored.... brought it out a few years ago , did more work on it. the energy is just not there anymore. Great car, but it is just time to move on. Sell it on ebay? Craigs list? (what price?) Convertibles are fun, but I believe it is time to move on.
  11. Does the choke tube that go's to the manifold end there, or does it loop? Does it suck in the hot exhaust gas, or is it simply warmed?
  12. Thanks for all the imput. I have a pump ordered and will get that in and get it running so I can enjoy it this summer. An electric backup may be in order, I like the idea of being able to fill the carb with fuel after it has been sitting a while, but that can wait for another day.
  13. I ordered a fuel pump and have thought about adding an electric pump. Does the electric pump push the fuel thru the original pump? Is it wired with just an on/off switch?
