  1. Very interested in your rear suspension set up. Did you make your front pivot mounts or is there a kit of some kind? What material and thickness is used there?
  2. Beautiful!............but way too much for my stock 264. Also too much for my budget...sigh
  3. OK So nobody else has answers or opinions............but to avoid radio noise I think I would use resistor plugs with solid wires or non-resistor ones with resistor wires. I don't want too much resistance hindering spark energy. Seems to me that would negate the extra power the electronic ignition is supposed to give you somewhat. But I don't know anything really, I'm just an old Kentucky infidel hillbilly!!
  4. I may be found wrong but I have been told to use resistance wires if anything other than points ignition. But..... common motorcycle use these days is to use solid wires with resistors in the end boot. So maybe someone with more electronics expertise can enlighten us both?
  5. Not the answer to your question but shouldn't we use resistance wires if converted to electronic ignition? Did you use the Pertronics coil they recommend for use with their unit?
  6. Thanks. I have confirmed by sucking on the advance can that it does hold vacuum but just didn't expect such a strong spring. Thanks again for confirming they are supposed to be that way.
  7. Got a spare distributor from evilbay a while back and just put in the pertronix kit. I know some have problems with it but that's not why i'm posting. Is the vacuum advance return spring supposed to be a pretty strong one? The can seems to hold vacuum without leaks, but I am concerned about that really strong spring preventing any vacuum advance.......Oh, the mechanical advancer seems to work through it's range ok and return properly so no question there.
  8. Any chance of posting a picture of underneath showing how you got BOTH lake pipes plumbed? The left side surely presents a challenge!
  9. Not meaning to crash in on this topic ...but does anybody have a good source for a quality fuel pump rebuild kit? My Special has been sitting too long and I want to give the whole fuel system a clean-out and rebuild the pump upper and lower. Maybe then the wipers will work better too.
  10. Really like those coil-overs. Where to get some and what model/part size did you get?
  11. From what i've read , it is "type A' whatever that is . It is never on the shelf at my local parts stores. I would like to find a source too!!
  12. OK I want one. How much shipped to Owensboro, Ky. zip 42366, actually Philpot ,Ky. Please reply to--JAX71224@AOL.COM Mine is a special,2dr sedan mod 48D if that makes any difference.
  13. So does look ok? I've heard it could be done fairly well for much less than real chrome. Wonder how well it would look right next to the real thing.
  14. am interested in fan/radiator shroud. My special 2-door sedan, 48d i believe, has none. Will yours work on this model?
