  1. We want the 1954 Buick Forum to be a place where folks gather to not only talk about their cars but also to get to know each other and build long lasting friendships. To that end, we feel it is important to learn a little about who you are. So please tell us about yourself, your family, where you are, what you do when not playing with your 54, and where, why and when did you fall in love with the ’54 Buick. When posting in the Introductions Forum for the first time, please include in the Subject line what country or state you are from. This will help newcomers see if there is anyone near the

Power steering main mount bracket and the 8 inch angle iron brace that bolts to the engine. Buick Green 6 Power steering pump - Black * The correc
  3. The 1954 BUICK Highway Adventures in Roadmaster Aluminum Brakes Historical Note: I drove a ’54 Special on a daily basis from high school through grad school, and know well what brake fade is. On the fast freeways of SoCal, the old gal, “Louise” was good for the first quick stop, barely OK for the second, and frightening for the third. No matter how well I kept them adjusted, and that does make a big difference, you had to be careful until the drums cooled down. If a new car can stop on a dime, I old Buick needed two bucks and change. Even in the day, Buicks
  4. This is my 54 Buick we won it on ebay a few years ago. The car was stock 264 with 3 on the tree. My husband and I drove it until the trany gave out. My husband tried to find someone to fix it but had no luck. So he decided to hot rod it. He is still working on it and I will try to post some pic's.
  5. Anybody know where I could find a male snap for the boot attachment on 1954 Skylark? Thanks
  6. Here are a couple of Craigs List links I use while cruisin the internet for 54's for sale. This one just pulls up "all" 54 Buicks on Google. 8. Anyone set up there 54 to tow a trailer? I recently aquired a 1964 traveleze 15 foot camp trailer thought it would be cool to use the buick as the tow vehicle. Was wondering what you guys use for a hitch? Helper springs? Brakes? Transmission cooler? Will the dynaflow handle it? Thanks

  12. A bit of background music seems appropriate.... click, then click back here A couple of weeks ago I got an email from my good friend Bob Coker, owner of the 1954 Buick Landau Concept Car. He reported that he had found a buyer for the Landau and it would be heading to a private museum in Louisiana within a week or two. As a lot of you probably know, ever since Bob purchased the car at a RM auction at Amelia Island back in March of 2010, he has most graciously allowed me to participate in helping to carry it to shows and act as chauffeur and custodian to display and reveal it to the
  13. Facebook is a great way to connect people. So why not connect 1954 Buick people and lead them to our forum family? http://www.facebook.com/pages/1954-Buick/114854015194421?sk=wall

  17. The restoration of the Buick super 2 door hardtop is going quite well except installing the side windows. The worst part of this restoration has been installing new window glass. I have already broken three pieces of glass. The side window frames came back from the chromer and for some reason they were off square and the glass would not fit. I had to buy new window frames from Cars. Now, the question is: there is a track in the door where the window frame slides down into the door but there isn't anything on either side of the inside of the track to keep the window frame from rattling bac
  18. My rear window molding came loose. Took out the rear window and put in a new window seal. Three of the clips holding the molding are rusted out and gone. I have looked and called everyone I can think of, but there is no place where they can be bought. I need three of them to put my window trim back on. I have a picture of what they look like. Please check through your things to see if you might have a few hidden away. If someone out there would make them, then they would be the only one in the world who would have them and they could be sold for '54,'55,'56 Buicks, Cadillacs, and Oldsmo

  20. Howdy folks! After almost four years, my harddrives are full of Buick stuff. Too much to continue scanning for a couple of months. That gave me the opportunity to study which way would be the best to provide you - the 54 Buick Highwayers - all manuals, books and guides I have. Or if you all aren't interested in it. I tried many different technologies over the past weeks. One thing is absolutely sure: There isn't a perfect way to provide our type of literature. So every solution has advantages and disadvantages. I want to present you a way that has - in my eyes - many advantages: http://www.
  21. Hello I am restoring my Skylark and the paint code is 16 ie Lido Green. Is there anyone who knows how to get the correct color for the Lido Green and the upper dark green for which I dont know the number or the name. The old paint it probably not authentic so I cant use it for the formula. Many thanks for advice.
  22. Anybody switched to electric wiper motor and retained the look of the stock wiper switch? Most of the electric motor kits I've looked at come with a universal type switch to replace the vacuum switch. I'd like to keep the look of the original bezel ring and switch. Not sure how easily it can be adapted.
  23. Ok....a much smaller idea to my other brain buster of listing all restoration parts and their finish. I want to start assembling together what needs to be done so I can have it done. Help me make a list of all the parts on a 1954 Buick that should be plated. First off, the hardware....should all the bolts be plated? Break Backing Plates Brake booster Carb links Pulleys/Gen fan Is this a matter of if not Chassis Black then its plated? Maybe I should approach it a different way... Just take a pic of every part in my "Pulled Part" inventory and indicate how its to be refinished......yeas
  24. " 1954 Buick Roadmaster, built at GM's now defunct Lakewood Plant in Atlanta, lived its whole life in Georgia. Doesn't even show 60K miles, believed to be correct based on the overall condition of the car. " " Asking $12,500 and will entertain offers and partial interesting trades.
