  1. Evening folks, I have an appeal for help from those of you who have a '54 skylark in your family. I am about to have my interior restored. I have all the embossed and died leather ready to go, but what I don't have is a pattern to work from, as my seats are so weathered they nothing more than a bare frame. My upholsterer is asking for various measurements, so I am wondering if some king soul could measure their seats for me please. What he needs is: Back seat base: The distance from the edge of the waffle panel to the side panel/armrest. And the width of the waffle pat
  2. Hi Guys Wondering if any members might have a 1954 Buick that matches this trim tag. We think it is a Super. Any chances of getting pictures of your interior that matches the trim tag. We are in the process of restoring a customers car but are having trouble figuring out what interior we need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Leo
  3. I have owned many cars being in the hobby for over 20 years, I have owned Hotrods, Kustoms, Roadsters, Gassers, Lowriders, and more. Currently I own a 64 Impala ss, 62 f100 patina shop truck, and a BONE STOCK 54 Buick Special 2 Dr post. Just picked it up and it is very original. 264 3 speed Black on Black. Very nice car..... My intent is to go the mild custom route. Give it a stance, kustom Watson style flame job etc. Etc. My problem is I'm conflicted. I'm not a stock guy, I get too bored with a stock car. But this car is as original as it gets and has only 40k or 140k miles. I have

  5. Question on the interior Roadmaster door emblem.... What color are the centers of the emblems supposed to be? We have green, a bronze color and maybe a reddish color. I've looked at various photos but can't determine the actual color. Madam Maybelle is on her way to becoming a Driving Diva.
  6. I've had quite a backlog of projects, Jeeps, Vw's and just finished a Pontiac. Well, I have 2 projects coming up. I picked up a 1956 Century convertible- very good body but missing all the interior parts, so my 56 hardtop has all the parts I needed. Then I have another Skylark. The Skylark is a big project, being a basket case so I'll probably hit the 56 first. I'll start a thread on that. Betty has a perfect cloth interior for the 56, the SKylark needs leather. I'll also post a thread on the new interior for Betty. I have some ideas for a custom interior for Betty, the cloth interior was nic
  7. Guys, this is amazing! There is a 1954 Buick interior trim book up for sale on Ebay. Its a bit pricey but it has all the options for trim in 1954! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Buick-Color-Trim-Showroom-Album-dealer-book-54-upholstery-sample-/201404347642?hash=item2ee4a274fa
  8. In October, I flew to Dayton, OH to pick up a brand new 2015 Chevy SS. Made in Australia, it has a 415 HP Corvette engine (LS3), is rear-wheel drive and has a 6-speed manual shift gearbox. These are actually Holden Commodores badged as a Chevy. Chevy imported only about 3,000 of them in 2015 and same in 2014. Only about 20% in 2015 are manual. 2016 will be the last year for them as Holden is ceasing manufacturing in Australia. It was hard to find the exact car I wanted in the color I wanted, so I made a deal over the phone and flew to Dayton and drove it home to Virginia. Got about 2,00

  10. http://rapidcity.craigslist.org/cto/5272607637.html That interior is nice and proportions on this one I almost like better then a 2 door hardtop.
  11. Back on the Forum after a summer break.... Madam Maybelle is making progress again. We have gotten started on the interior after a long wait for materials from (unmentionable!). Mark spent a lot of time fabricating new A/C ductwork to go into the ceiling. Funky former rodent habitats had to go! Bob finished the power antenna work before he passed away with a lot of help from Father Buick and Mr Earl with parts and advice. The internal cord was sent to us by a company who used to manufacture it back in the day. Not sure of all of the details on that. The shop has also posted several new
  12. Not a Buick post but just an update. I finally had a chance to drive my Cadillac after a few weeks of waiting due to saving up for the registration costs. Wow...quiet...fast...and comfortable! The only thing I can say is that the Buick Dynaflow is far superior to the Hydramatic. I miss being able to drive from 0-70 and feel nothing in the sense of gear shifts. My new car kinda lags from 1st-2nd but then its smooth. Turns out this is common for the Hydramatic trans. The power brakes are alright but they are super sensitive...which is also common for the Treadlevac brakes. I'm in love wi
  13. Reluctantly selling my Willow Green Super Model 52 due to needing space for a more senior car. The Super is in overall very good condition, 53,000 actual miles; new brakes, tires, starter, hoses, battery, Dynaflow gone through and new seals throughout. The car is in top shape mechanically and will drive anywhere, no need to ship, just drive it home. Its been my nice weather car for over 10 years. Very solid body with presentable paint and chrome. Asking $12,900. For any additional photos or information which will be promptly shared. please contact me at my email address: fift8imperial@yahoo.c
  14. Needs lots of work but looks pretty nice: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/5126215808.html
  15. A couple hours from me. They take phone bids, I can pick it up and hold it for you if you win. If I was still buying fitty fo's I think I'd have to at least give this one a shot. http://fsagallery.com/?az_feed_pos=www.auctionzip.com%2Fcgi-bin%2Fauctionview.cgi%3Flid%3D2368096%26feed%3D129%26group%3D0%26state%3D%26kwd%3D%26zip%3D%26category%3D0%26nojava%3D0
  16. My interior visors are getting annoying. They stay up but only for a little bit of time. Is there some Viagra or something I need to look into?
  17. I am ready to put the interior back together on my Special. The Interior door panels were attached with small "nails" or brads that went into a slot in the door. When I took the panels off many of these brads pulled through and stayed in the door. How do I go about re installing these panels. I appreciate all advice. Thanks
