  1. I have just replaced the stock springs for 3in lowered springs in the rear of my car, Looks amazing so far, I ran out of light for better pictures. But you will notice before and after shots. Tomorrow is a new day and more to come...
  2. Anyone set up there 54 to tow a trailer? I recently aquired a 1964 traveleze 15 foot camp trailer thought it would be cool to use the buick as the tow vehicle. Was wondering what you guys use for a hitch? Helper springs? Brakes? Transmission cooler? Will the dynaflow handle it? Thanks
  3. Hello, I am looking for an oil pan and new valve springs for a 264 nailhead. I can not seem to find only the valve springs for sale, I only see them sold in kits to rebuild the entire head. Does anyone know of where I can purchase just the springs? Also, I am in the market for the oilpan to the 264 nailhead as well. I have one but it has a small hole in it. Does anyone have an oilpan in decent condition that they are looking to sell? Thanks :search:
  4. I put lowering springs in the rear but want to adjust my rear shocks. Has anyone done this?
  5. i want to cut 1.5 coils off the front and put a set of elcamino (gbody) coils on the rear. what is needed to adjust the rear shocks? anyone have before and after pics of their lowered 54's?

  7. Hey guys, I have been having a problem with the rear lip of my hood scraping the top of my firewall when you open the hood. Is there an upward adjustment with the hood hinges, or should this be fixed with new hood bumpers on the fenders?
  8. This is part two of my '54 Buick Super. Not only the the front end need to be replaced but the steering gear is shot. There is so much play and I am not able to adjust it any more. It is a power steering unit. Where can I get a gear to get my buick going? Thanks
  9. I had my upholstery redone recently and found 3 papers stuck in the seat springs that have some of the same information as my build sheet I found a while back. See the photo attached. Two were in the back seat and one was in the front seat. They all have the same build letters that my build sheet has on them - A I M Q B D F, which all mean different options (see build sheet- also attached), and they all have the same sequence number of my build sheet - 4346, which I am still not sure what that is.   10. We get quite a bit of chatter about suspension upgrades on the 54's. Unfortunately not everyone wants to go to the trouble or spend the money. In this case we have a very solid 54 special that runs great but suffering from BUick boat syndrome. Its a quite usable car so it really wants to cruise- safely with kids in it- but no big investment I got the beefed up sway bar that one of our members is selling under $300 including shipping.   11. That's my question, I have a set that my machine shop got with bearings and machine work. The original (or at least what was on the engine) were pretty flat metal, the ones I have are a composite material. I'm guessing I should be using high compression gaskets, in my build. The engine has been bored out .040, new Pistons bearings and everything is new. The heads have all new valves, guides, springs and new rocker assemblies... How do I tell if the head gaskets are high or low compression? Sorry to seem like a dumbsh## but I have too much money tied up in the unit to start doing stuff wron
  12. So what is the trick to get the rear drums off my super? I can't seem to be able to turn the star adjuster at all. The drum wiggles but won't come off. I know I cant just hit it with a maul, right? Maybe I'm trying to turn the star the wrong way, I need some direction
